Funding options
I believe good mental health care should be within reach for everyone — not just those who can easily afford it.
Private paying
No referral needed — you're welcome to book directly as a private client. Private health insurance rebates may also apply depending on your level of cover. Flexible session lengths (30 and 50 minutes) mean you can choose what fits your needs and budget.
Medicare - Mental health care plan
With a GP referral and Mental Health Care Plan, you can access Allied Health Medicare rebates for sessions with me. Occupational therapists are registered Allied Health providers under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative — so yes, your OT sessions are Medicare-eligible. Rebates are available for eligible clients per calendar year. Both 30-minute and 50-minute sessions are covered. You claim rebates directly through Medicare — I'll provide the receipt you need.
NDIS funding
I work with plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants. Mental health OT support is typically funded under Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living. Sessions can be delivered via telehealth from anywhere in Australia, or as home visits in the Essendon and greater Melbourne area. Before your first session, I'll need your NDIS number, current plan details, and your plan manager's contact if applicable.
Accessible care
If you hold a concession card or are under financial pressure, please reach out. I'm genuinely happy to talk through what options might be available to you.

Mental Health Care Plans (MHCP)
What is a MHCP?
A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is a plan created by your GP to support your mental health. It allows you to access Medicare-rebated sessions with eligible mental health providers, including mental health-endorsed occupational therapists.
With a MHCP, you may be able to receive rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year (this is reviewed partway through the year).
What do I need to get a MHCP?
To obtain a MHCP, you’ll need to book a longer appointment with your GP (often 30–40 minutes). During this appointment, your GP will:
-
Talk with you about how you’ve been feeling
-
Ask about your mental health history and current supports
-
Discuss how your wellbeing is affecting daily life, work, relationships, or parenting
-
Explore what kind of support might be helpful for you
This is a collaborative and supportive conversation — there’s no “right” or “wrong” way to present.
What information is included in a MHCP?
Your GP will usually include:
-
A brief summary of your mental health concerns
-
Relevant medical history (if applicable)
-
Any current medications
-
Your goals for therapy
-
Referral details for your chosen mental health provider
Once completed, your GP can send the plan and referral directly, or provide you with a copy.
Do I need a review?
Yes. After your first sessions, your GP will usually complete a review before additional rebated sessions can be accessed. This is a brief check-in to see how things are going and whether ongoing support is helpful.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for people with a permanent and significant disability to access supports that help with everyday life, wellbeing, and participation. For some people, this includes support for psychosocial disability related to mental health.
If you have NDIS funding, you may be able to use it to access occupational therapy supports, including mental health and functional support.
What do I need to use my NDIS funding?
To use your NDIS funding for services, you’ll need:
-
An active NDIS plan
-
Funding that includes Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living (this is the usual category for occupational therapy)
-
A plan that is either self-managed or plan-managed
What information do I need to provide?
Before we begin, I’ll usually need:
-
Your NDIS number
-
Your date of birth
-
A copy of your current NDIS plan (or relevant pages showing funding type and dates)
-
Your plan management details (if applicable), including your plan manager’s contact details
-
Any goals from your plan that you’d like support with
This helps ensure services align with your plan goals and are billed correctly.
What can NDIS occupational therapy support with?
NDIS-funded mental health OT support may include help with:
-
Daily routines and life skills
-
Emotional regulation and coping strategies
-
Building structure, motivation, and participation in daily life
